Wolf Blitzer Had to Walk It Back on Air After He Got Caught Lying About Troops and Mail Ballots
Wolf Blitzer just got caught lying about American troops on live television. He told a Democrat governor that Trump's mail ballot order would harm military voters overseas.
Now Wolf Blitzer’s issuing on-air corrections, which means millions heard the lie before anyone heard the truth. What Blitzer Actually Said...
Last Friday, Blitzer sat down with Virginia Democrat Governor Abigail Spanberger to hammer Trump's executive order cracking down on mail-in voting. The executive order – signed March 31, 2026 – directed the U.S. Postal Service to create a new system regulating who could vote by mail, requiring states to presubmit lists of eligible mail voters.
Blitzer handed Spanberger her talking point on a silver platter. "In Virginia, you have a lot of military personnel who totally rely on mail-in ballots if they want to be able to express their opinions," he told her.
Spanberger ran with it. She said it was members of the military, diplomatic service, and intelligence services – "people serving overseas in service to our country" – whose ballots would be threatened.
There was just one problem...It wasn't true. It was a big fat ignorant lie.
Read about the lie...
The Law that Blitzer Forgot Existed--The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act – UOCAVA – has protected military and overseas voter ballots since 1986.
So only SOME voting by mail is rife with fraud, I guess. When a Republican president and the (mostly Republican) military stationed in a foreign country use it, it's super okay. It's only when it's used by the rest of the country is when it becomes bad and totally corrupted with fraud. Except, of course, when a Republican wins, and then it works just fine.
