A Manufactured Scandal

Consider what it takes to lie to a free people at scale.

A private liar can deceive a neighbor. A campaign can deceive a district. But to deceive an entire nation, and to do it durably, you need something rarer.

You need an institution the public has been trained to trust, and you need to borrow its authority. The intelligence community is that institution.

When career officers say a thing is so, citizens reasonably assume the judgment rests on secret evidence too sensitive to share. That trust is precisely what makes the apparatus so dangerous when it is turned, because a borrowed badge of credibility can launder a falsehood into a fact.

This is the heart of the matter, and it is why the events of 2016 through 2020 deserve a stark description. The coordinated politicization of U.S. intelligence by the Obama administration, the Clinton campaign, and an interlocking network of operatives was the single greatest disinformation campaign in American history.

I want to be careful with that claim, because careless conservatives have squandered credibility by overreaching, and the fact-checkers are waiting. So let me say plainly what I am not arguing. This was not treason in the strict constitutional sense, which requires levying war against the U.S. or adhering to its enemies, proven by two witnesses to an overt act. That high bar is not met here, and pretending otherwise only hands critics an easy rebuttal.

What I am arguing is more precise and, in some ways, more damning. The conduct fits the ordinary legal definition of conspiracy, a secret agreement to achieve unlawful ends through unlawful means, and it carries the unmistakable character of sedition, the deliberate poisoning of public perception against a lawful government.

The aim was to subvert an election and, having failed at that, to cripple the presidency the voters chose. Obama, Comey, Clapper, and Brennan deciding to screw Trump, stamping it as Russian collusion, and then classifying it so nobody could see it.

Evening Sky 7-1-26

There was a time in this country when “Election Day” needed no explanation. Polls opened, Americans voted, polls closed, and the result was known — usually before bedtime. That clarity wasn’t some happy accident.

It was a deliberate feature of self-governance, a shared civic ritual that gave every citizen confidence that the process was legitimate. One day. One count. One result.

That principle has been crumbling for years, chipped away by one rule change after another. And now the erosion has reached the highest court in the land.

The Supreme Court just handed down a decision that effectively blesses the slow-drip counting of ballots for days after the polls have closed. The question isn’t just legal anymore. It’s existential.

If elections don’t end on Election Day, when exactly do they end? Apparently, whenever it’s convenient. [Cole Harrison,American Journal]

Supreme Court Protects Female Sports

MAJOR VICTORY — U.S. Supreme Court Upholds Laws Protecting Girls’ Sports

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court issued its decision in West Virginia v. B.P.J., a landmark case that definitively ruled that both Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause permit the separation of males and females on the basis of biological sex.

America First Legal (AFL), alongside co-counsel Christopher Mills, submitted an amicus brief urging the Court to reverse the decisions of the Fourth and Ninth Circuits, which respectively held that West Virginia had violated Title IX by prohibiting males from participating in female sports and that Idaho had violated the 14th Amendment by doing the same.

“This case was always about whether courts would apply the law as written or rewrite it to advance an ideological agenda,” said Gene Hamilton, President of America First Legal. “The Supreme Court correctly recognized that Title IX was enacted to protect women and girls, and those protections mean little if biological reality can be ignored.

Today’s decision is a major victory for the rule of law and for every female athlete who deserves a fair, safe, competitive environment.”

Trump Taps 29-Year Vet Lance Schroyer to Lead ICE

Trump nominates 29-year law enforcement vet Lance Schroyer to lead ICE

President Trump said Saturday that he has nominated Lance Schroyer to serve as the next ICE Director. Schroyer is a former Oklahoma State Trooper and a United States Marine. The pick would put a long-time law enforcement figure in one of the most closely watched immigration jobs in Washington.

The nomination also stands out because ICE has gone 11 years without a Senate-confirmed director. That is a long stretch for an agency that sits at the center of the immigration fight. If Schroyer gets through the Senate, he would inherit a job built around arrests, removals, and coordination with state and local police.

Trump praised Schroyer’s background and said he has real hands-on experience. In his statement, Trump said, “I am very pleased to announce that I have nominated Lance Schroyer to be our next ICE Director.”

Schroyer’s résumé is heavy on street-level policing. Trump said he has over 29 years of law enforcement experience in Oklahoma, and that he has worked on 287(g) partnerships with ICE. Those partnerships let local agencies work more directly with federal immigration authorities, which is exactly the kind of setup the administration has been leaning on.

Markwayne Mullin also backed the move. “With over 29 years of law enforcement experience, Lance will play a vital role in helping deliver on the President’s mandate from the American people to target, arrest, and deport illegal aliens,” Mullin said.

Florida Budget 2026-27

DeSantis Signs Final State Budget of His Administration

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday signed Florida’s $117.6 billion budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year, approving a spending plan that he said reduces state spending for the fourth consecutive year.

The final budget comes after nearly $810 million in line-item vetoes and covers the fiscal year that begins today, July 1. It is the final full state budget of DeSantis’ administration.

Some of the highlights:

The plan directs $30 billion to K-12 public schools, raising per-student funding to $9,338, or $150 more than the current year. It also includes $1.56 billion for salary increases for teachers and other instructional personnel, $1.65 billion for early childhood education and $290 million for school safety.

Environmental spending includes $1.2 billion for Everglades restoration and water quality projects. That total includes $665 million for Everglades restoration, $396 million for targeted water quality improvements, $150 million for Florida Forever, $64 million for beach nourishment and $425 million for the Rural and Family Lands Protection Program.

For public safety, the budget includes $19.8 million for sworn state law enforcement pay increases, $20 million for the Law Enforcement Recruitment Bonus Program and $15 million for the State Assistance for Fentanyl Eradication Program.

Trump Targets Gas Prices

Trump Demands Gasoline Retailers Lower Prices, Warns of ‘Big Problems’ If They Don’t

President Trump demanded Monday that gasoline retailers cut prices immediately as crude oil costs continue falling. The president urged stations to start targeting gas around $2.50 a gallon and warned that “big problems” could follow if prices stay too high.

President Trump issued the warning in a Truth Social post. He said gasoline prices are too high compared with the current price of oil.

“Gasoline Retailers must get their Prices down, IMMEDIATELY!” Trump wrote. He said oil is now around $68 a barrel and “heading south.” Trump argued that lower crude prices should quickly translate into lower prices at the pump.

Birthright Citizenship 6/3

‘MEDIEVAL’: Justices Thomas, Alito Argue ‘Birthright Citizenship’ Ruling Reverses the Declaration of Independence on Its 250th Anniversary

Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito tore into the court’s majority for imposing a “medieval” rule on “birthright citizenship” that negates the spirit of the Declaration of Independence, days before the 250th anniversary of America’s founding document.

Both justices issued dissenting opinions in Trump v. Barbara (2026), in which the court’s 6-3 majority upheld the notion of “birthright citizenship,” that any baby born on U.S. soil—regardless of his parents’ immigration status—is a citizen.

Thomas said the court’s majority in Trump v. Barbera (2026) presented a legal argument that was “not historically accurate.”

“American citizenship, the court says, was based on a medieval English ‘feudal’ principle, according to which each person ‘owed personal service to the lord of the soil’ as his ‘master’—a perpetual servitude that was ‘born with the child and only ended in the grave,’” he summarized. According to the court’s majority, Americans adopted the feudal principle and Congress codified it in the Civil Rights Act and the 14th Amendment.

Alito, for his part, cautioned that “before saddling the nation with a medieval rule, we had better be certain the Constitution requires it.”

He warned that the court’s decision confers citizenship on “birth tourists,” the children of women who travel to the United States just to give birth.

The solution:
Stop the selective enforcement of laws against illegal immigration, disallow sanctuary cities, and get rid of the "anchor baby" situation by correctly interpreting the 14th Amendment. Enforce laws against employees who hire illegal labor, and allow no government entitlements to illegal entrants to this country.
