'Ranting lunatic': Trump officially cuts off support of Marjorie Taylor Greene
President Donald Trump formally withdrew his endorsement of Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Friday.Trump said he made the decision after weeks of escalating frustration. He pointed to what he described as "record achievements" since returning to the White House and argued that Greene responded to those developments by "complaining" rather than delivering results for her district.
The president said the rift began when he shared polling data indicating Greene would be a weak contender in statewide races for senator or governor. Trump said the data showed her stalled at roughly 12%, and he warned she stood no chance without his backing — a backing he said she "wasn't about to get."
"She has told many people that she is upset that I don't return her phone calls anymore, but with 219 Congressmen/women, 53 U.S. Senators, 24 Cabinet Members, almost 200 Countries, and an otherwise normal life to lead, I can't take a ranting Lunatic's call every day," Trump continued.
