PBCounty School Board ends DEI
The Palm Beach County School Board voted Wednesday night to eliminate all programs in the district that contained diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI.The changes will eliminate diversity goals in hiring and retaining staff, and end the women-and minority-business enterprise program.
The Trump administration views some DEI programs as potentially violating anti-discrimination laws.
District rules would still bar discrimination, but they would no longer require efforts to provide racial, ethnic or gender diversity in hiring or retaining staff. Principals would no longer be required to select faculty advisers, directors, coaches, sponsors and staff "who are diverse in racial, ethnic, and gender composition."

They should also end Dual Language programs it’s hurting more then it’s helping
ReplyDeleteThe classes should be in English. They should learn English as their first language, just like the German kids, and every other foreign kid who ever went to school here. If they want to have special classes in Spanish after school, that's fine with me.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, that to ride down 8th Avenue South, and look at that horrible school building, that looks like something out of a medieval horror movie, is not very encouraging. And then to talk about building a museum, you know something is wrong with these people.
And you think people from other states who look at that school are going to move to Lake Worth with their kids. Take a ride out west and look at the schools.
The school is fine the neighborhood crack heads and druggies hookers are not, that’s the problem with LWB but yall don’t want to be Delray Beach you like your little protest signs, totally backward “thinking”!
DeleteYou sound like one yourself, 7:30. The school is not fine. I'll wager you never looked at it. Tell me that's what a school yard looks like in the 21st Century. No Middle Class or Upper Middle-Class family would move to LW and put their kids in that school. When the baby boomers are gone from Palmway and Lakeside, the town is over. Let's use our resources wisely, and not build a museum for a craft, that almost nobody is interested in!
