Pakistan likes the Taliban, and in fact, are related to many of them. Pakistan hates the US, and takes the money and probably gives it to the Taliban. The Secretary certainly knows this, and has probably wondered as I have, why we have been giving money to so many of our enemies. Their crooked Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif has just stepped down, but that doesn't guarantee the next one won't be just as bad. My favorite author, V.S. Naipaul referred to Pakistan as a "Criminal Enterprise".
