During the August 9, 2016, City Commission Budget Work Session, Vice Mayor Maxwell requested $25,000 for the Lake Worth High School Dollars for Scholars program.
It is now on tonight's agenda for discussion to authorize and incorporate into our 2016/2017 Budget.
I hope that this can be a recurring yearly contribution as our students need all the help they can get. Their parent organization, The Lake Worth High School Alumni Foundation, of which I am a lifetime member, pays all the overhead expenses by fundraising throughout the year. This ensures that every dollar donated to or raised by Dollars for Scholars goes toward a scholarship for a financially needy student.
All of you Alumni and Dollars for Scholars friends, please show up at city hall and show your support.
Hmmm,Maxwell must be getting nervous . He's been so nasty that maybe he needs to do some damage control. Maxwell has never shown the slightest interest in our High School before.
