Braves won’t have new spring training home in time for 2018
Remember when it seemed like
the Braves were on the cusp of finding themselves a new home for spring
training? Well, that timeline has been pushed back by a full year after
the team announced that talks with both Palm Beach County and Sarasota
County weren’t going fast enough in order to make this a possibility.
So, it looks like they’ll be staying at Disney’s Wide World of Sports
for at least another season.
"We’re now focusing on 2019," Braves vice chairman John Schuerholz said. "It’s moving slowly enough that we have to adjust, and our target for a new facility is 2019."The Braves’ lease at Disney’s Wide World of Sports near Orlando, where the team has trained since 1998, expires after next spring. But recent talks with officials in Palm Beach County and Sarasota County haven’t progressed fast enough to keep the timetable on track for a 2018 move. So the Braves have had a "substantive conversation" with Disney officials, Schuerholz said, about the possibility of a one-year extension that would keep the team training there in 2018.

I think they thought that we were stupid enough to finance their stadium with no questions asked. "Oh look the Atlanta Braves want to build in Palm Beach County. Yeah!" Nope we are not a dumb as you think we are Atlanta Braves.
Sadly, Scott Maxwell ,the Palm Beach county Commission and our local podunk municipalities were and ARE dumb enough to think the destruction of John Prince Park for a baseball stadium will rain pennies from heaven down upon them.THE ONLY reason a beautiful Public Park was not destroyed was a lack of funds to do it. And now Palm Beach county is sticking their hands down our pants once again for more money. NO WAY am I voting for the one penny pay to play.I'm sure the Braves were told to wait until the penny plan passes,wink wink ,we'll have your stadium money next year.School board was UBER STUPID to hitch their wagon to the Moron squad here in the county.And to our local back stabbing businesses- what did your treachery get you? It got you a butt load of customers who won't be shopping in your businesses again!
