Quote of the Day - Let's push this idea down the throats of Lake Worth

Comment Up
"The company [Hudson Holdings] in the next three weeks, plans to hold a public meeting without commissioners to get more input on plans for the casino/pool complex. It’s a good opportunity to get the facts out there on what we’re really doing. Then we will push the commission to make a decision.”

~ Steven Michael, Hudson Holdings partner

Get the facts out there? What are you "really" doing?  You mean to say, get the propaganda out there? Hudson is desperate to get hold of our beach/casino area and they are spending the $$$$$$$$$$ to do it. Then they will PUSH the commission? How much more of this do we want to listen to? How many people in Lake Worth might make $$$$$ off this deal should it go through? If you control the politicians you control the city. All of this is squarely on the head of the city manager.

i was told today from a palm beach resident who was told by a well known business owner in lake worth--to get back at lake worth the 1st and 2nd floor in gulfsteam hotel right now are taken up by homeless---if this is true is this a way hudson holding is allowing this to get deal through?

WHAT A CONCEPT-GETTING PUBLIC INPUT. This farce should NEVER have happened! A city employee, the city manager, BORNSTEIN, conducts a series of secret meetings conducted by people HE PUT on the ITN committee to decide what is going to happen at Lake Worth Beach . All with ZERO knowledge or permission from the people of Lake Worth. You know us stupid little piss-ants that pay his salary!
Szerdi found out the hard way- the people of Lake Worth want NOTHING to do with this private takeover of our public beach.
Here's a message from all of us to Hudson Holdings- Fix up the Gulfstream Hotel ,period. And then get the fuck out of our town.

I think that's the sentiment of a lot of people.

Can't say I would believe them anyway...as remember he went around to NA and told us the plans for the Gulfstream and so far there hasn't been a thing done! Show us the MONEY!!!!

Lynn, would you go?

Other than to report on the greed involving this company and the grab of our beach, John Szerdi and now Wes Blackman who admitted to me he works for Hudson Holdings, I doubt it.

Lynn, would you consider, if asked, to sit down at a meeting with Hudson, etc, ?
You are so so well informed - and via your blog, could educate the people with your input..
I know you don't hold a staff position, but as a voice of the town, would you be willing to sit down with HH - ??

Push the commission? I wouldn't count on it fellas. As for another public meeting, the residents have seen and heard enough. I'll skip this one.

Boy, these guy can't win. Have private meetings, you bitch, have public meetings, you bitch more. Try an outreach to the public, which you demand, and already the claws are fully extended. Let the blood flow. I love the comment above,"Here's a message from all of us to Hudson Holdings- Fix up the Gulfstream Hotel ,period. And then get the fuck out of our town."

Ahhh, can't wait for the campaign season to start.

No doubt about it--Hudson is giving it their best shot. Unfortunately, no one is buying it. If that's "bitching, let's have more of it.
And no @11:04, I would never consider sitting down with them. I didn't invite them here--the city manager did. Not interested in anything they propose. I don't want them here. I have made that clear.

I can't believe our city commission is even considering giving control of our beach to Hudson Holdings. Like many other people in this town, I am very, very upset. This whole process needs to come to a halt.

I would like public meetings, something the City should have started with rather than the ITN, but public meetings with HH will accomplish little. We should have public meetings among ourselves, decide what we want or don't want and then seek bids or public/private partnerships to accomplish what WE want.

Can anyone EVER be happy?
