Constant Crime - Lake Worth

Comment Up

Something that this commission NEVER discusses--I have to continually put this up here as a constant reminder of why we are in trouble. The publishing of this data has been delayed due to other important issues. However, crime is on-going and it is critical that we be vigilant and call in any suspicious activities to PBSO at 688-3400.

Tell us again how much we pay for PBSO? It seems were doing so well w/them we'll now have SIGNS on FEDERAL HWY that warn people are PBSO is too busy to protect US so the citizens had to spend time & money to protect themselves by walking the neighborhood at all hours to "Make the call Ya'All! Is this a joke? How can the NAPC contact (w/the city) FDOT to put these (poker tell/property value droppers) signs up and We the People have no clue it's being done so we have NO SAY ABOUT IT! Wassup w/that?

I agree with you Lynn, crime is a real problem, you never see cops patrolling the streets much anymore like before. There is so much delinquency. Not to mention rich people who leave their properties like 1306 and 1320 Lucerne all boarded up and abandoned that are overgrown and attract all these delinquents who then paint graffiti all over them since the owner takes no pride in their buildings/property. The city had to send a cleaning crew over there this week as 1320 was plastered with a ton of graffiti again, it happens constantly, between the rich and poor that never assume any personal responsibility for their actions, the poor middle class have to suffer in so much blight and crime in Lake Worth.

Weetha, you are such an unhappy woman. Your only platform is on this blog. Totally ridiculous to criticize the NAPC and their efforts. They do a lot of good works and their deication to this city is unquestioned by most. They bring the city together in a feeling of hope and progress. Exactly what have you done for the city except disparage its volunteers and officials?

Because someone has a different opinion, you have to resort to name calling. We have read ALL OF THE NAMES here...not too many left in your repertoire. I believe your "sociopath" one was tops of all time.

Rather than having a special meeting to talk about the bond vote, the City should be holding meetings with PBSO and city leaders to focus on what is much more important than the bond and that is crime.

I was all for PBSO and was, initially, very happy with their performance, but in the last few years the patrols, the presence, the policing have all gone down and crime has gone up (we are about the only place in the County, where crime is increasing).

Crime, both the actual crime and the perception of crime is doing much more to our property values and low tax revenue than any pot hole. I sure wish the City leaders gave as much attention to the issue.
