Message from John Boehner

Comment Up

Today – for the fourth year in a row – House Republicans passed a jobs budget.

This common-sense plan:

  • Cuts more than $5 trillion in federal spending and achieves balance in 10 years
  • Repeals the president’s broken health care law
  • Overhauls the tax code to boost wages and make manufacturers more competitive
  • Protects critical programs like Medicare and Social Security, and more.

  • Meanwhile, Democrats in Washington are already busy trying to score political points.  They’re trying to tear us down to take back the House and pass President Obama’s budget- a plan that calls for higher taxes and spending increases of more than 60 percent over 10 years.

I dont get it. Dont the democrats understand no one wants health care reform. Our health care system is the best in the world. We need to cut all federal programs and increase military spending. The only thing I feel is wrong in in the house republican budget is their unwillingness to slash socialist programs like medicare and social security.

Why we're in so much trouble.^^^

Republicans are committed to setting it on a sound fiscal basis that will give workers control over, and a sound return on, their investments...they will have a choice.
Medicare can't be sustained on its current course. Move Medicare from defined benefit to defined contribution program. Transition to a premium-support model.Income adjusted voucher for insurance. Increase eligibility age.

    On social security:
Most younger workers today do not believe there will be ANY social security benefits when they get ready to retire--
Give workers control over their investments.
Younger workers can take responsibility for planning their own retirement.
