Rats and Roaches

Comment Up

Rats and roaches on South E Street. Vice Mayor Scott Maxwell says, "The city is just overwhelmed with vacant and unsightly properties, but there’s some good news. The city is looking for tools and tactics to deal with the situation." Didn't he say that nearly 3 years ago when he was running for election? Commissioner Maxwell also told Channel 12 that the city is not in a financial position to buy these vacant properties.

Maybe he will come up with a general obligation bond scheme so that they can! Even if they did that, there would be no staff to maintain them.  We can't maintain anything.

Read about the nightmare that plagues parts of our city.

Code enforcement is a money maker in many other cities, I really don't know why LW can't get it together and enforce code to control these health and safety issues.

Code seems to have more than enough staff to hassle us every time a new tenant moves into one of our properties. Yes our property has been inspected in the last year, yes we have a license, no you can't inspect it again go do some actual code enforcement.
