Growing Tyranny

Comment Up
Hope is not a strategy

Clearly we the people have lost confidence. We no longer trust those in power to do the right thing. Very few of our elected representatives stand up for principle; they compromise on bad bills so that they won't be labeled as part of the problem. They lifted sanctions on Iran that just announced that it is building new centrifuges. We continually allow ourselves to be jerked around.

All these decisions trickle down. Those in power in Lake Worth are doing the exact same thing. To even contemplate a massive long-term debt on an infrastructure program that will be pushed on the backs of the few wealthy and all those middle class folks who are hard working and trying to stay above water, is exactly what Washington, DC does daily--Takes from the rich and middle class to subsidize the growing dependency class. We continue to build affordable houses and rentals attracting more poor people who will never be able to contribute much, if anything, to the tax base. We give away government buildings to the CRA for the grant scam.  Lake Worth elected officials are part of the same mentality that runs this country.  It's all about them.

There is no longer a balance of power. Obama does what he wants even though there are two other branches that are supposed to hold him in check. Our commission does the same thing. We elect people we feel will have common sense and fix the problems and certainly not circumvent the vote.  We want them to listen to us but instead, if they ever answer their phone or an e-mail, we get the big "shuffle." They never deal with it. What do we get? Less transparency, inefficiency and no one caring about the people--no respect. We have a couple of staff members working their butts off to come up with all of the answers for 35,000 people. The city makes ordinances and they all sound good but we have no one to enforce them.

The Feds want bigger socialized government and the City of Lake Worth elected officials want a bigger tax base and want the residents to foot the bill for infrastructure to attract developers. But it has never been about what they want, or at least it shouldn't be.

Lynn the CRA is a huge joke. How many years have we had a CRA active in Lake Worth? Why do we not see results and real improvements? Shouldn't its goal to be to eventual abolish itself once the CRA has done its job? The CRA is a huge joke and stepping stone for politicians here, look at clemens or Andy A. both were on it to use then to go to become mayor or comm and now beyond. The CRA has been a huge disappointment.

Here is a task for you Lynn, how many people who serve on the CRA actually live in the CRA district? Do you know? I bet not very many or none of them do. If they did, maybe more would be done. I think no one should be able to be on the CRA board unless they actually OWN and LIVE in the CRA district.

Our government is broken.

Thanks for caring Lynn.
