With 4 out of 5 commissioners putting the pressure on Michael Bornstein to hire Scheller as new police chief in Lantana, Bornstein capitulated. Why fight now. He's out of there in days to be the new City Manager of Lake Worth.
Scheller might be the best person for this job but Lantana will never know that when political hardball is played and commissioners go around their authority in this manner. Is this what we will expect in Lake Worth? The commission actually running the city (something that they secretly and not so secretly want to do) and making its operating decisions rather than the city manager? Time will tell.

Ah oh, Maxwell running the entire city. Look for taxes to increase as he goes forward on the Park of Commerce and pans anything reasonable.
