Recently this subject came before our Planning & Zoning board and the Amendment of our Comprehensive Plan. I was curious as to the Board's feelings on this matter and outcome of their vote on the height restrictions brought forward by Commissioner Jennings and was told the following:
...the entire P&Z Board and others felt that there should be some additional heights on North West Dixie Hwy where there are deep lots. Some additional consideration be given to the TOD's. All the rest was fine by maintaining our downtown, neighborhoods and majority of our town the shorter heights would work. Even the two Lynda's agreed on these and voted nay with comments that the commission still needs to give further thought to those area's.
The motion was supposed to be to not approve the height changes as proposed with giving additional thought to those area's mentioned above but it came out to vote yes or no for what was in front of us and the comments from every member of the board .... it does not matter how we vote the commission has final say regardless.
Lynda Mahoney and Linda Davis voted No to the motion that we not approve the changes as presented by the Commission.
